Method 1 of 2:
Using Windows

Open your file using the Paint application.- This can be found under Accessories in the Programs menu.

Click on the File menu and select Save as... -
Click on the pop-down menu for Save as type. -
Select JPEG or PNG. For most images, JPEG is a good choice. -
Type in a new name for the file.- Be sure to save the new version of the image in the directory of your choice.

Click on Save. You are now ready to upload your image to wikiHow.
Method 2 of 2:
Using a Mac

Open your file using the Preview application.- This can be found in the Applications folder.

Click on the File menu and select Save as... -
Click on the pop-down menu for Format. -
Select JPEG or PNG.- For most images, JPEG is a good choice.
- If you select JPEG, you will then see a slider to select image quality. There is usually no need to change this setting.

Type in a new name for the file.- Be sure to save the new version of the image in the directory of your choice.

Click on Save. You are now ready to upload your image to wikiHow.
