If you want to change your Apple ID password, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Apple ID account page: https://appleid.apple.com/
  2. In the Security section, click Change Password.
  3. Enter your current password then enter your new password and confirm your new password.
  4. Click Change password.
  5. Log in with your new Apple ID password to access Apple features and services.

Change Apple ID password on iPhone, iPad, iPod:

Steps to change this Apple ID password apply to iOS 10.3 or higher:

  1. Go to Settings / Settings> [your name]> Password and Security / Password & Security.
  2. Select Change password / Change Password.
  3. Enter the current password or device passcode, enter a new password and confirm the new password.
  4. Login with a new Apple ID password to use Apple's features and services.

If you have trouble logging in with your Apple ID password, use the following steps to reset your password and regain access to your account. Apple ID is the account you use for everything with Apple, such as when buying music in iTunes Store, logging in to iCloud, buying apps and many other activities. To reset your password, you need to know the email address for your Apple ID.

The various instructions below are based on the type of security you use for your Apple ID. Select the security type you use and follow the steps to reset your password.

Reset password using email, password and security question

Step 1. Go to the Apple ID account page and click " Forgot Apple ID or password ". If you require confirmation of your phone number, switch to the password reset steps for two-factor authentication.

Step 2 . Enter your Apple account.

Step 3. Select the option to reset your password, then click Continue .

Step 4 . Choose how to reset your password:

  2. To receive an email, select " Get an email ". To reset your password, use your primary email or rescue email address to receive mail from Apple.

Reset password using two-factor authentication

If you use two-factor authentication for your Apple ID, you can reset the password from trusted devices such as iPhone, iPad, Pod touch or Mac with a password or password that has been enabled.

On a Mac

Step 1. Go to the Apple menu> System Preferences , then click on iCloud .

Step 2 . Select Account Details .

Step 3 . If asked to enter your Apple ID password, click " Forgot Apple ID or password " and follow the instructions on the screen.

Step 4 . Click Security> Reset Password . Before resetting the Apple ID password, you will be asked to enter the password used to unlock your Mac.

If you haven't logged in to iCloud, go to the Apple menu> System Preferences , then click on iCloud> Forgot Apple ID or password and follow the steps on the screen.

Use recovery key

If using two-factor authentication instead of two-step authentication for Apple ID in iOS 11 or later or macOS High Sierra or above, you will have the recovery key to reset the password.

Could not access device

If you can't access any of your Apple devices, borrow an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a friend or family member and follow these steps:

Step 1. Open the Find My iPhone app .

Step 2. When the login screen appears, make sure the Apple ID field is empty. If you see another username, delete that username.

Step 3. Click Forgot Apple ID or Password , then follow the steps on the screen.

If you don't see the login screen, tap Sign out . After logging out, make sure the Apple ID field is empty. Then, click Forgot Apple ID or Password and follow the steps on the screen

Reset password using two-step verification

Step 1. Go to the Apple ID account page and click " Forgot Apple ID or password ". If asked to confirm your phone number, use the steps in two-factor authentication.

Step 2. Enter the Apple ID, select the option to reset your password, then select Continue.

Step 3. Enter the Recovery Key for two-step verification. *

Step 4. Select a trusted device * to receive verification codes for your device.

Step 5. Enter the confirmation code.

Step 6 . Create a new password, then select Reset Password.

After resetting the password, you will be asked to login again with your new password. You may also need to update your password in Settings on the device.

* If you lose Key Recovery or access to trusted device, you cannot change your password.

If you still cannot log in with your Apple ID and password, make sure you have entered the correct Apple ID. In most cases, your Apple ID is also the primary email address of your Apple ID account. If the above measures do not help you change your password, contact Apple support.
