How to enable speed warnings on Google Maps

The newly updated Google Maps application adds a speed warning feature when you are driving, sending a notification when you have exceeded the allowed speed limit on the moving road.

Step 1:

In addition, you can also further adjust this mode with the notification option to receive notification sounds from Google Maps.

  1. The speedometer of the Google Maps app is shown for informational purposes only. To know the exact actual driving speed, be sure to check the speedometer on your vehicle.
  2. Google Maps speedometer may not match your actual speed due to external factors.
  3. To be on the safer side, you should ask a friend to check the speed displayed on the app using the vehicle's speedometer when using this feature for the first time.
