Google launched an attractive policy to entice iPhone users to switch to Pixel Fold
Google recently announced the highly anticipated Pixel Fold foldable smartphone line, competing directly with Samsung's Galaxy Fold models. Pixel Fold is currently listed at a rather expensive price: 1,799 USD for the base version and 1,900 USD for the high memory capacity version. This price makes Pixel Fold one of the most expensive smartphone models on the market today.
It's worth mentioning that Google seems to want to compete with the iPhone instead of just equivalent folding screen smartphones. According to reports, Google seems to be planning to roll out a big incentive package for iPhone users who want to get their hands on the new Pixel Fold. Normally, Apple often runs 'renew old' programs when users want to upgrade to the latest iPhone models. Google has a similar idea, but with a more attractive level of support for iPhone users so they can easily switch to the new foldable Pixel with a more novel Android experience.

Specifically, for the base model iPhone 14 Pro with 128GB storage, Google is offering a staggering trade-in value of $900, which is just $100 short of getting an iPhone 14 Pro "original seal". For older models, Google is offering $850 for the iPhone 13 Pro, which is even $320 more than Apple's upgrade support policy.
In addition, the Mountain View company is also offering the service of 'upgrading' the Pixel 7 Pro at a price much lower than the listed price. For example, users can get $380 for the Pixel 7 Pro while the list price is already $899 for the base version.
There is no doubt that Google clearly wants iPhone users to switch to the new Pixel Fold experience because this is honored as a unique smartphone model and possesses many of the company's most advanced technologies. However, it remains to be seen how the factors Google expects will be evaluated in real-world experiences. Legendary investor Warren Buffett recently suggested that iPhone users should give up every piece of technology except their iPhone. That said, convincing iPhone users to switch to another phone model is extremely difficult.
