YouTube will have a timer feature to turn off videos
Android Authority discovered that the latest YouTube version on Android (19.25.33) has lines of code related to the video shutdown timer function. This means that Google may be rolling out this feature soon.
The video off timer feature helps people who often watch videos before going to bed to set a time to automatically stop playing the video after a certain period of time, avoiding the situation where the video continues to play after falling asleep.
Google has equipped YouTube Music with a timer feature, but the main YouTube app on Android has not yet been equipped with a similar feature.
Adding the video timer feature is considered a reasonable move by Google because of the large amount of relaxing videos and music on this video sharing platform. Surely many users are looking forward to this feature.
The appearance of related lines of code in the latest update shows that Google may soon deploy it in the near future. However, currently the company has not officially announced the launch date of this feature.
