A guide to recycling ore in The Forge
The latest update to The Forge has brought a host of quality of experience (QOL) changes, most notably the Recycle Ores mechanism . This feature allows you to dismantle unused equipment to recover rare ores – which are extremely difficult to find in the game world.
1. The most detailed guide on how to recycle ore in The Forge
To begin the recycling process, you need to find specialized NPCs at key locations:
- NPC Marbles: Appears in the Stonewake's Cross area .
- NPC Wo: Found in Forgotten Kingdom and Frostspire Expanse .
These are the main locations where you can sell your crafted equipment or recycle it to recover materials.
Material recovery rules:
-
Applies only to crafted items: You can only recycle weapons and armor that you have crafted yourself.
-
50% recovery rate: Typically, you will get back half of the ore you used.
-
For example: If crafting a Straight Sword costs 6 ore (2 Yeti Heart, 2 Void Star, 2 Snowite), you will receive 3 ore in return (1 Yeti Heart, 1 Void Star, 1 Snowite).
-
-
Exception (Daggers): For weapons that only cost 3 ore (like Daggers), if each type of ore has a different rarity, you will receive back all the materials used.
2. Is ore recycling allowed in The Forge?
The answer is YES , especially if you own equipment containing Mythic, Relic, or Divine- grade ores .
Why choose recycling instead of selling?
- Low-value weapons: Items like straight swords, gauntlets, spears, and axes don't usually sell for a high price. Instead of selling them for a few pennies, recycling them for rare ore will save you hours of grinding.
- Overcoming Bad Luck (RNG): Sometimes you use extremely rare materials but the crafting results don't give you the stats you want. Recycling is the best way to "start over".
Advice for each stage of the player:
- Late-game: This is the best option because you already know how to make money quickly and need to optimize your Divine materials.
- Early/Mid-game: Think carefully. If you don't have the best picks for mining or your money is limited, focus on accumulating rather than wasting resources on recycling too early.
3. Summary
The ore recycling feature is a great "lifesaver" for The Forge players in resource management. Always prioritize recycling unused weapons instead of cluttering your inventory.
