The Power of the Wraith Clan

Build the Phantom DTCL team in season 15 Picture 1

The Phantom Clan deals magic damage every 5 seconds to the 3 nearest enemies, calculated based on the damage dealt by the Phantom champions since the previous activation. In addition, the lowest health Phantom champion will recover health equal to a portion of the damage dealt by the formation , helping the main carry to fight extremely well.

  1. (2 Ghosts): 18% total damage
  2. (4 Ghosts): 33% total damage
  3. (6 Ghosts): 50% total damage

At 6 Spectres, both AoE damage and sustain increase dramatically – making this an incredibly stable late game comp.

The role of generals in the Ghost squad

General Main role Subsystem
Jhin Damage dealer, early game carry Sniper
Varus Long range damage support Sniper
Kayle Early game carry, easy to level up early, can slowroll to 3 stars Duelist
Malzahar Control, magic damage spread Prodigy
Zac Main attack, resistance Heavyweight
K'Sante Absorb damage, heal, deal physical damage to protect the back row Protector

With no 4-cost Spectres to deal damage, the onus falls on Jhin, Kayle, and Malzahar until you find Varus. With proper protection and items, Hin, Kayle, and Malzahar can deal tons of damage, while also contributing to the constant healing from Spectres.

How to play Ghost team in each phase

Early Game (Lv 3–4)

  1. Find Kayle and Zac early with Jhin for 3 Ghosts, you can also use 2 Ghosts and combine with 2 other champions.
  2. If you can activate 2 Ghosts early, you will have a good early game healing advantage.
  3. You can temporarily use other races/classes to hold items for Malzahar or Varus. If you decide to roll for Kayle and Zac, don't level up and save money.

Mid Game (Lv 5–6)

  1. Start looking for Malzahar to activate 4 Ghosts, remember to keep all Ghosts. If you roll for Kayle and Zac, Aatrox, you should roll from level 5 with over 50 gold. Remember to build items for Kayle and Zac.
  2. Zac still plays the main tank role, can combine Thornmail/ Gargoyle/ Blood Armor early.
  3. If you don't roll for Kayle, continue to level 6 on round 3-2 and maybe choose to roll for Malzahar on level 7.

Late Game (Lv 7–9)

  1. Goal: 6 Ghosts + solid shield, if rolling for Malzahar, slowroll at level 7. After rolling, go to level 8 and find Varus, combine with other tank champions because tanks will be quite thin if you haven't found K'Sante yet.
  2. Complete items for Jhin, Zac and Malzahar.
  3. You can add champions other than Ghosts like Udyr or other high-cost champions to further boost the clan.
  4. If there is a core technology that supports Ghost or healing – even stronger.

Tips and notes when playing Ghost

  1. Position Varus, Kayle and Malzahar well : Place them in the corner, with a tanker blocking in front, to avoid being targeted by the enemy team's backline early on.
  2. You probably don't need to 3-star Kayle – Kayle can just be a pawn early on and you can use Malzahar and Jhin as your main sources of damage until you find Varus.
  3. Prioritize tech cores that amplify team damage or heal.
  4. Ghosts are very strong with long range champions that deal constant damage, so try to find Varus late game.

The Phantom is a team with the ability to 'snowball' strongly thanks to the area damage over time and the ability to recover incredibly. When combined with the right champions and arranged in a reasonable position, Varus will become a 'god arrow' that sends the entire enemy team to the scoreboard. If you like unique teams and do not rely too much on fast-explosive damage, try the Phantom team in season 15.
