Vampire Survivors: How to defeat the final boss and unlock the Great Gospel

Vampire Survivors finally have an ending, or at least a final boss. Added in patch 0.8, the game now has a special edition of Cappella Magna (stage 5) for first time finishers.

Passing this version will unlock the normal version of the Cappella Magna, a new Arcana and the Great Gospel relic. In this article, learn how to defeat the final boss and unlock the Great Gospel in Vampire Survivors.

How to approach and defeat the final boss in Vampire Survivors

Cappella Magna is the 5th and final stage of Vampire Survivors, so it is also the hardest challenge.

The difficulty is mainly due to all the different grim reapers chasing the character throughout the level. These range from the annoying green and purple grim reaper, to progress blocking like the blue grim reaper.

The best way to deal with these enemies is to enter a Rosary chain - which will kill them instantly. There are several Rosaries scattered around Cappella Magna, so check your map if one of the grim reapers shows up.

When surviving up to 30 minutes, most enemies will molt as normal. However, instead of being attacked by death, the environment will begin to change. Eventually, all the different types of grim reapers will appear and merge into a single enemy.

This grim reaper combo is slow, but it has some attacks that need to be avoided. On the floor there will be red lines on the floor, indicating where large monsters appear and deal damage to the character.

All you need to do to win this boss battle is deal damage to the boss while dodging the red areas. If you're trying to avoid being hit, try picking up a Laurel as a shield.

When enough damage is done, the boss will explode and a gray grim reaper will come and kill the character, ending the run in the level. So you've finished beating all levels of Vampire Survivors.

How to get and use Great Gospel

The reward for completing Vampire Survivors is one of the coolest upgrades ever added: Great Gospel. Gamers will also earn the weird Game Killer Arcana, which suppresses the ability to level up but turns XP gems into bullets and makes chests with 3 items.

The Great Gospel is a new relic, dropped from the final boss, and it allows weapons to be upgraded beyond their usual max level. Note that gamers will need to enable this relic in the character menu before starting their play.

When leveling up all the items in the inventory, people will start getting Great Gospel upgrades instead of 25 bonus coins or health. These upgrades are usually a percentage increase to the stats for a particular weapon, such as extending the attack range or increasing the speed of a Fire Wand or Hellfire.

These boosts are pretty strong and make a noticeable difference after just a few upgrades. With Great Gospel, your character's power is truly limitless. If you're starting to take on the game's biggest challenges, such as surviving the Bone Zone, now is the perfect time to put Great Gospel on your weapon.
