How to Uninstall QuickTime on Windows

QuickTime was abandoned by Apple a while ago. With a couple security flaws and plenty of other solutions out there, it might seem desirable to uninstall QuickTime. This article will guide you through the QuickTime uninstallation process....

Method 1 of 3:

Windows 10

  1. Right-click the Start button (bottom left corner of the screen) to open the WinX menu. Alternatively, hit the Windows key + X.
  2. Locate and click "Apps and Features". You can also just hit "F" while the WinX menu is open.
  3. Scroll down or search for QuickTime.
  4. Select QuickTime and hit uninstall.
  5. Confirm the selection. It should only take about 10 seconds to uninstall.
Method 2 of 3:

Windows Vista or Windows 7

  1. Click the Start button, click Control Panel, and click the Uninstall a program link (grouped under the Programs category). (If you are in Classic View, simply click Programs and Features.)
  2. Scroll down until you see QuickTime.
  3. Click on Uninstall or Remove.
  4. Click the Yes button, and then click OK after a while.
  5. Close Control Panel.
Method 3 of 3:

Windows XP

  1. Click the Start button, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Scroll down until you see QuickTime.
  3. Click QuickTime, click the Remove button, and then click Yes.
  4. Click OK, and close the Add or Remove Programs window. You can also re-download it from Apple.com.
