Before the year ends, give yourself the gift of 'resetting' your self-love.

The end of the year can feel like the end of a marathon, and it can be particularly tiring. Before the old year closes and the new one begins, you should take some much-needed time to heal and reset yourself. The suggestions below will help you do just that.

Reset your body

When we're busy, worried, or exhausted, we often neglect self-care. However, self-care is a very practical way to remind yourself that you are loved.

If it's been a while since you've soaked in a bath, taken a walk in nature, or given your body a long break from emails and work screens, dedicate the weekend weeks of the year to treating your body well as an act of self-love. Schedule a health checkup with your personal physician if you have one, return to a healthy diet, and adjust your supplements or medications.

Reset your mind

Our minds can be a chaotic jumble of wild and elusive thoughts—anxiety, to-do lists, fanciful illusions, and unjustified self-criticism.

Self-love is about telling yourself positive, helpful, and beneficial things, and focusing on thoughts that contribute to your own happiness. To adjust your inner dialogue and minimize negative thoughts, you must replace them with other things.

Try affirmations like, "I am becoming wiser and kinder every day ," or " Life is taking care of me in wonderful ways ."

Reset your attitude.

We can't always control circumstances, but we can better control our attitude towards them. You might feel sad or disappointed about something that happened in 2025, express and acknowledge those feelings, and then find ways to comfort yourself. And you can also choose an attitude of gratitude, acceptance, peace, joy, or giving.

Consciously adjusting your attitude towards greater self-love can actually help change your circumstances, because attitude affects your level of motivation, willingness to change, and even energy, which in turn impacts what you achieve.

Reset the rhythm

Many people experienced significant changes in 2025. In numerology, 2025 is Year 9 , signifying the end of a nine-year cycle. Places, roles, and relationships that had fulfilled their purpose may have disappeared, while others remain but may have grown significantly.

Change is a fast-paced game. And even if you're not rushing around trying to make changes or adapt to them, your mind may have been busy this year trying to figure everything out. Self-love is about slowing down so you can catch up with yourself and better regulate your nervous system.

Mimic the speed of a snail whenever you can, slowing down your actions and thoughts as a practice of self-love. We make better decisions and take better care of ourselves when life unfolds at a gentler pace.

Refresh your heart.

If your sensitive heart has suffered a lot in 2025, you're not alone. Self-love can mean realizing that, before the year ends, that precious heart deserves special healing.

Let your heart embrace the most wonderful things in life! It could be a morning hike, or performing a ritual as the full moon rises at sunset. It could be a playful session with a good friend or pet, or immersing yourself in a creative project alone. Remind your compassionate heart that there are so many wonderful things in this life.

Read stories or watch films that highlight the best aspects of the human spirit, where people live with their hearts, showing empathy or kindness to one another. Have sincere conversations with others, encouraging them with praise and praise. The human heart has an infinite capacity for healing; it's a rare miracle, so don't overlook it. This end-of-year period could be a great time to heal your heart.
