How to Add Friends and Invite Them in Free Fire

To add someone in Free Fire, open the Friends panel from the lobby, choose the option to add a player, and search for the exact nickname or Player ID. Send the request, then wait for the other player to accept it before inviting them to a squad. Menu names and icon positions can vary slightly between Free Fire and Free Fire MAX updates.

Add a friend by nickname or Player ID

1. Open Free Fire and remain in the main lobby.
2. Tap the Friends icon. It is normally represented by two people in the lobby toolbar.
3. Open the Add or Add Friends section.
4. Enter the player's exact in-game nickname or Player ID. A Player ID is safer than a display name because names can contain similar characters.
5. Confirm the search, open the correct profile, and tap the plus icon or Add Friend.
6. Wait for the other person to accept the request.

Ask the player to copy their ID from their profile rather than typing it from memory. Before sending a request, compare the nickname, avatar, level, guild, and other visible profile details so you do not add a different account with a similar name.

Accept or reject incoming requests

Open the Friends panel and select Requests. Choose Accept for a player you recognize or Reject for an unwanted invitation. Avoid accepting random accounts merely because they claim to offer free diamonds, skins, or account upgrades.

If the list contains too many old requests, clear the ones you do not recognize. Privacy and request options may also be available in Settings, depending on the current client.

Find a player and send the request

Search results may include suggested accounts in addition to the person you entered. Tap a result to view its profile before adding it. The plus button normally sends the request immediately; it does not automatically place the player in your current team.

A confirmation such as Request Sent indicates that the invitation is pending. Repeatedly sending requests will not make the other player accept faster and may look like spam.

Invite an accepted friend to your squad

1. Return to the lobby and select Duo, Squad, Clash Squad, or another team mode.
2. Open the team invitation or friend list beside an empty team slot.
3. Find the online friend and tap Invite.
4. Wait for the player to join, then check that everyone has selected a compatible mode before starting.

Some team formats also support a team code or link. Share it only with the people you intend to invite, and create a new room if unknown players repeatedly join.

Why a friend does not appear in search

• The name is not exact: capitalization, spaces, symbols, and visually similar letters matter. Search by Player ID instead.
• Different regional servers: accounts created in different regions may not be able to find or play with one another.
• Wrong game account: confirm the player is signed in to the profile whose ID they shared.
• Pending or blocked status: check incoming requests, sent requests, and the blocked-player list.
• Friend-list limit: remove inactive contacts if the game reports that the list is full.
• Temporary connection issue: restart the game, install the current official update, and search again.

Safe ways to play with new contacts

• Use in-game voice and text tools without sharing phone numbers, passwords, verification codes, or account recovery details.
• Never sign in through a link sent by another player to claim diamonds or gifts.
• Mute, block, or report harassment, cheating, impersonation, and suspicious trade offers.
• Do not knowingly team with cheaters; use the official client and report abnormal play.
