How to Fix a Gray Screen in PUBG Mobile

A gray or colorless PUBG Mobile screen can come from damaged game resources, an iPhone display filter or an unsupported device. Start by checking whether the problem affects only PUBG Mobile, then use the built-in repair option before reinstalling anything.

1. Check whether iOS is displaying everything in grayscale

Leave the game and open another colorful app or photo. If the whole device is gray, check Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Color Filters and turn off Grayscale or Color Filters if it was enabled accidentally.

If other apps show normal color, continue with the game-specific checks below.

2. Restart the game and the iPhone

Close PUBG Mobile completely, reopen it and check the login screen. If the display remains incorrect, restart the iPhone. This clears temporary graphics and memory problems without changing the game installation.

3. Use PUBG Mobile's Repair option

On the PUBG Mobile login screen, select Repair. The location and wording can change between versions, but it normally appears before entering the lobby.

Allow the client to check and replace damaged resources. When the repair confirmation appears, close and restart the game as requested.

The repair may require resource downloads after the next launch. Use a stable connection and keep enough free storage for the files to complete.

4. Update the game and downloaded resources

Open the official App Store or Google Play listing and install any available update. Inside PUBG Mobile, also let pending maps, texture packs and other resources finish downloading. A client and resource package from different versions can cause missing or incorrect graphics.

5. Lower the graphics settings

If the lobby opens, choose a conservative graphics preset and frame rate, then restart the game. High settings can expose memory or graphics limitations on older hardware. Raise one setting at a time after the display is stable.

6. Check free storage and device support

Low free storage can prevent a resource package from being unpacked correctly. Remove unneeded downloads or apps, restart the device and run Repair again.

The iPhone 5S mentioned in the original version of this guide is now an old device and may not meet the current game's requirements. If the official store does not offer the current version for the device, do not sideload an unofficial client; use supported hardware instead.

7. Reinstall only after securing the account

If Repair and updates do not help, confirm that progress is linked to the correct supported account before deleting the app. Reinstall PUBG Mobile from the official store, sign back into that same account and let all resources download fully.

When the problem may be hardware-related

If gray colors, flicker or visual artifacts appear in other apps, screenshots or system menus, the issue is probably not limited to PUBG Mobile. Check the device display settings and seek device support rather than repeatedly reinstalling the game.

Quick diagnosis

• Every app is gray: check iOS Color Filters first.
• Only PUBG Mobile is gray: restart, run Repair and update resources.
• The error begins on higher graphics: lower the preset and frame rate.
• The store says the device is incompatible: the hardware or operating system is no longer supported.
