How to create a signature for PDF documents on iPhone

More and more formal documents are being turned into PDF documents, and you may be asked to digitally sign a document when you're not using a computer. If you're using an iPhone, it's really not that difficult; you can create a signature and reuse it using the iPhone's built-in Markup tool.

Here's what to do:

Step 1. Open the PDF document in Markup.

Step 2. Tap the plus sign at the bottom right.

Step 3. Click the Signature button.

Step 4. If you haven't created any signature yet, tap on the label at the top titled 'New Signature' . (If you don't see 'New Signature' , tap the plus sign in the upper left corner).

Step 5. You will be given the option to label your new signature with your full name, last name, nickname, etc. Or you can choose to not need the label at all.

Step 6. After selecting your label, you can sign your name at the bottom of the screen. There's a 'Clear' button if you decide you need to try multiple times to get it right. Tap 'Done' in the top right corner when you're ready.

Step 7. Your signature will then appear in a box on the document. You can move and/or resize until you are satisfied with how it will look on the document. When you're ready, tap anywhere outside the box. You can then use Markup for any other edits.

Step 8. When you're ready, tap 'Done' in the upper left corner and save the file.

The next time you open a PDF in Markup on your phone, tap the Signature button and the signature (or signatures) you've saved will be there. Just tap it and it will be included in your document. You can always select 'Add or Remove Signature' if you wish.
