How to Fix Apex Legends Connection, Anti-Cheat, Crash and FPS Problems

Apex Legends problems usually fall into one of four groups: a server or network issue, damaged game files, an anti-cheat or runtime failure, or graphics settings that exceed the PC's available resources. Start with the least disruptive checks, test the game after each change, and avoid reinstalling everything until you have identified the likely cause.

Before changing anything

1. Restart the game launcher and the PC.

Do not install an unknown VPN just to add the game to a library. A VPN can complicate regional licensing, authentication and account-security checks. If the account or game is not available in your region, use the launcher's current support channel rather than attempting to bypass the restriction.

Fix missing Microsoft Visual C++ runtime errors

Install or repair the supported Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages from Microsoft's official download source, then restart Windows and verify the game files. Fix crashes and DXGI errors

Errors such as DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG often point to a graphics-driver, GPU stability or rendering problem rather than a damaged account. Try these steps in order:

1. Verify the game files.
2. Return GPU and CPU overclocks or undervolts to their default settings for a test.
3. Lower texture streaming and other VRAM-heavy options.
