Notepad, one of the most popular apps on Windows 10, will receive updates more frequently on the Windows 10 Sun Valley edition.

In fact, the 'fate' of Notepad on Windows 10 is a topic that has received a lot of attention recently. If nothing changes, on the upcoming major feature update of Windows 10, Microsoft will 'plan' Notepad to be a separate updateable application from the Microsoft Store, and will also be ported out. from the Windows Accessories folder.

By moving Notepad to the Store, Microsoft will be able to provide the long-standing text editor with new enhancements and feature updates on a more regular basis. For now, new updates to Notepad are still tied to Windows 10's two major feature updates, which are typically released between April and May and October to November each year.

To facilitate this big change, Microsoft has also quietly updated Notepad with a pretty useful new alert feature, designed to automatically send notifications to remind users when there are any updates. What new updates are available on the Store. As shown in the screenshot below, the warning allows users to launch a new version of Notepad directly after the app has been updated via the Microsoft Store.
