Microsoft releases Windows 11 update to fix error KB5012463

Microsoft has just released a new optional update for Windows 11. This update carries the number KB5012463 and after the update will bring the version number of Windows 11 up to 22000,652.

As noted by Microsoft, KB5012463 fixes the following issues:

1. Resolves an issue that caused the Windows 11 operating system to take about 40 minutes to boot.
2. Resolves an issue that causes video subtitles to not align.
3. Resolves an issue that caused video subtitles to be cut off in some parts.
4. Show the temperature above the weather icon on the taskbar.
5. Addresses an issue that prevents you from using the minimize, maximize, and close buttons on a maximized application window.

As you can see, the most noticeable problem solved in this update is the slow startup of Windows 11. This problem is not clearly described by Microsoft so we cannot know. the percentage of people affected by this problem is large or not.

Besides the above issues, Microsoft also made some other notable changes and updates. A race condition during startup that could cause processes to crash, causing a resolved blue screen.

Microsoft also resolved an issue that caused the AppX Deployment Service (AppXSvc) to stop working when you install an MSIX application. The company has also made improvements to the Autopilot and TPM applications that support pre-provisioning and self-deployment scenarios.

Another bug that was fixed was Windows reporting high RAM usage due to a memory leak. This bug affects people who use the computer 24 hours a day for a week.

The software giant also fixed an issue affecting the Tile property in Microsoft Edge's IE Mode. This error leads to disallowed mobile device management policies on Windows Enterprise editions.

Microsoft says it also fixed an issue where Windows was able to restore BitLocker after a service update. Another issue that prevented the operating system from replicating the security portion of Group Policy has also been resolved.

KB5012463 is an optional update so it will not automatically install on your device. If you want to install this update, you need to go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options. You will find a button to download and install update KB5012463 in the Optional updates section.

In addition to the previously reported Windows 7 backup file issue, Microsoft has not announced any other known issues caused by update KB5012463.
