If the computer crashes, press this key combination

Having a little-known keystroke can help you get your device back to normal.

It must have been at least once that you had a computer crash , suddenly freezing and Windows could not respond for many different reasons. Having a little-known keystroke can help you get your device back to normal.

Key combination fixes computer crashes

Windows has a standard keystroke to restart video drivers, which can be used at any time, namely Win + Ctrl + Shift + B.

After pressing the key combination, the screen will be black for a while, then you hear a beep when the video driver restarts. After 1 2 seconds, the screen will return to normal. Since this only affects graphics drivers, all other applications will stay in place as you are.

Note that this key combination only works on Windows 8 and Windows 10, Windows 7 users unfortunately can't take advantage. This works even if you use any graphics driver, from Nvidia to AMD and Intel's integrated graphics.

A few other tricks when app crashes

Depending on the cause of the hang, this shortcut might help or not. If it is due to a graphics driver, restarting them without rebooting the machine will work.

But if that doesn't work, try using Alt + Tab to switch to another software. If that doesn't work, try Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager and stop the pending application.

When all of the above methods don't work, try Ctrl + Alt + Del. If after a while Windows still does not respond, you only have to force the shutdown by holding down the Power button , this is like unplugging power and the last solution when the system hangs.
