What is Geometry Dash game?
Geometry Dash is a one-button mobile game developed by Swedish developer Robert Topala also known as RobTop. The game was released in August 2013 on iOS and Android. The Steam version on PC was released on December 22, 2014.
In Geometry Dash, players control the movement of an icon and navigate through music-based levels, while avoiding all obstacles such as spikes and walls that can instantly destroy the icon upon collision.
How to play Geometry Dash
Depending on the platform the game is on, Geometry Dash can be played with a touchscreen, keyboard, mouse, or other tools. But it's all just a tap on the screen.
The player will control the movement of his icon to overcome obstacles in the form of pressing or holding. With the goal of completing a level by reaching the end of that stage or at least achieving the highest score possible.
Notably, if the player crashes into an obstacle, they will have to start over. In practice mode, players can set checkpoints in the shape of diamonds to survey or practice levels without officially completing their journey. The timing and rhythm of the music in the game will be closely linked.
Levels in the game
Geometry Dash currently includes 21 official levels, which is where players can create extended levels. Where players can create their own custom obstacles and share them with other players.
Up to now, there have been up to 83 million customizations created, in addition to the official levels, certain user-created levels have been introduced in the game content. Such as map packs, gloves, hall of fame, daily and weekly demon-free levels, search bars.
In-game currencies such as stars, secret coins, user coins, mana orbs or diamonds can be obtained from chests or official levels. And user-created levels to obtain coins.
In addition to the original game, three other spin-off games in the series have been released: Geometry Dash Meltdown, Geometry Dash World, and Geometry Dash SubZero.
Obstacles in Geometry Dash
As mentioned above, the obstacles in Geometry Dash are very diverse and will appear over time. These include spikes, thorns, gears, walls. At the same level, there will be scene changes and the player will be taken to a different space with different obstacles than before.
For example, in deep sea environments, players will have to face giant pillars or underwater volcanoes that appear very suddenly to suit the terrain.
In addition to moving to different terrains, the challenges in the game are also arranged reasonably. Sometimes they are unexpected to require players to focus on quick reflexes to avoid obstacles from the developer.
Sound and graphics
Geometry Dash attracts players not only by its engaging gameplay but also by its sound and color. The game has quality and catchy background music, the songs have easy-to-listen bass, helping to create a rhythm for your gameplay.
The highlight here is that RobTop knows how to arrange obstacles to match the bass beat. Making players feel like they are playing music when catching up with the rhythms to complete their level.
With simple graphics that are not too sophisticated, the harmonious and clear colors help players recognize obstacles. However, the later levels of the game increase the speed and add obstacles continuously. Requiring players to quickly change if they want to go further.
