5 steps to fix a crashed and inactive Mac error

The status of Mac hangs is very rare, but does not mean it does not happen. Like other computers, when running in a cycle, sometimes the software may hang. And when this happens you can find the application or the entire macOS system (or Mac OS X) unresponsive.

The status of Mac hangs is very rare, but does not mean it does not happen. Like other computers, when running in a cycle, sometimes the software may hang. And when this happens you can find the application or the entire macOS system (or Mac OS X) unresponsive.

So how to fix this error, please refer to the following article of Network Administrator.

1. An error occurs on an application or the entire system?

The first problem is to determine whether the entire macOS operating system is affected or if only one application is affected.

macOS is a modern, fairly intelligent operating system in memory management used by applications. In most cases, if only one application crashes (the reason is usually because the application takes up too much memory and gets stuck in a loop), then you will receive a warning message for you. know that the application is closed unexpectedly.

Conversely, if the Mac crashes without any warning, the problem may be the operating system.

To fix this error you have 2 choices:

- Click Reopen to restart the application and send the report to Apple.

- Click OK to dismiss the notification window.

2. Fix a crashed Mac: Stop sending crash reports to Apple

By default macOS sends a report to Apple whenever the application is suspended. Apple uses these data to manage macOS development and provides users with a more stable operating system version in the future.

In addition, if you do not want to send suspended application data to Apple, you can turn off the auto-report feature on System Preferences:

1. Open System Preferences .

2. Click on Security & Privacy .

3. Click the Lock icon in the bottom left corner of the window and enter the Admin password there.

4. Select Privacy => Diagnostics & Usage .

5. Uncheck the Send diagnostic option & use data to Apple and Share crash data with app developers .

6. Click the Lock icon again to close the System Preferences.

From now on when the Mac crashes, on the screen you will get the Reopen button and the Report button. Click Report to send the report to Apple, click Reopen to reopen the program.
