VNCERT warns Internet users in Vietnam to change their email and Facebook passwords immediately

A large number of accounts use e-mail, passwords of social networking sites and online services leaked worldwide.

According to the warning of the Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Center (VNCERT), issued on the night of December 26, 2017, a large number of accounts use e-mail and passwords for social networking sites and services. Online disclosure information worldwide.

Accounts of social networks and online services such as: Bitcoin, Pastebin, LinkedIn, MySpace, Netflix, Last.FM, Zoosk, Badoo, RedBox . are all exposed.

Specifically, there are a total of more than 41GB of data worldwide estimated to contain about 1.4 billion email accounts and passwords that have been leaked.

According to VNCERT analysis, in Vietnam, there are 437,664 accounts including: 930 accounts using e-mail of state agencies with 'gov.vn' and many accounts using email of corporations , important infrastructure enterprises of Vietnam have been exposed

The disclosure of account information by email and password will create conditions for hackers to hijack accounts, attack, steal and destroy information and data systems.

Therefore, in order to ensure information security and avoid being attacked by hackers, VNCERT requires units and recommends that Internet users in Vietnam urgently perform the inspection, review the system, strengthen the main password books, change login account passwords; implement multi-layer authentication solution; Do not use your email to register your personal account for use on social networks, online services.
