Summary of shortcuts in Windows Media Player

With shortcut keys when using Windows Media Player, users will be able to manipulate much faster when listening to mp3, watching videos compared to traditional operations.

Music playback software, watching videos are now very popular like KMPlayer, VLC Media Player. However, some people choose for themselves Windows Media Player, with a simple and easy-to-use interface without installing too much support software. In the new version of Windows Media Player 12, a lot of upgraded features bring new experiences to users.

And some shortcuts when using Windows Media Player will help us to use this program more effectively. The shortcuts in the following article will be used for both Windows Media Player 11 and 12 versions.

1. Shortcut for watching videos and mp3s on Windows Media Player:

  1. Ctrl + P : Play or pause music and videos.
  2. Ctrl + S : Stop playing music and videos.
  3. F9 : Increase the volume.
  4. F8 : Reduce the volume.
  5. F7 : Mute.
  6. Ctrl + B : Play back the file.
  7. Ctrl + F : Play the next file.
  8. Ctrl + Shift + B : Rewind
  9. Ctrl + Shift + F : Forward.
  10. Ctrl + Shift + G : Play faster than normal speed.
  11. Ctrl + Shift + N: Play at normal speed.
  12. Ctrl + Shift + S : play slower than normal speed.

2. Shortcut key copied from CD:

  1. Alt + C : Copy tracks - music tracks on Audio CD
  2. Alt + S : Stop copying songs
  3. Alt + A : Display album name.
  4. Alt + I : Display or hide album information.

3. Shortcut in Media Library:

  1. Alt + I : Display or hide album information.
  2. Alt + A : Display the menu from the Play List button in the Media Library window.
  3. Alt + S : Hide / show the search dialog.
  4. Alt + N : Search for collections.
  5. Alt + D : Display the menu from the Add button in the window.
  6. Ctrl + N : Create a list of new tracks.
  7. F1 : Help.

4. Shortcut key copied to CD or other device:

  1. Alt + A : Edit the created list.
  2. Alt + C : Copy selected files to CD, or other device.
  3. Alt + L : Stop copying files.
  4. Delete : Delete the currently selected file.
  5. Ctrl + 2 times the + sign : Make the columns Title, Status, Length, Size automatically change the width to fit the content inside it.
  6. Ctrl + J : Exit the CD / DVD from the device.
  7. F5 : Update information in the windows of the window.

5. Shortcuts in the File menu:

  1. Alt + F : Book of commands in the File menu.
  2. Ctrl + O : Open a music and video file.
  3. Ctrl + U : Open by URL.
  4. Ctrl + N : Create a new music playlist.
  5. Ctrl + D : Edit the list of current tracks.
  6. Ctrl + W : Close or stop playing a music or video file.
  7. Alt + F4 : Exit Windows Media Player.

6. Shortcut in Play menu:

  1. Alt + P : Book of commands in the Play menu.
  2. Ctrl + H : Play the music and videos in the list randomly.
  3. Ctrl + T : Play the list again when the last post in the list ends.
  4. Ctrl + Shift + C : Turn on / off music and video titles and subtitles.
  5. Ctrl + E : Open or close the CD / DVD drive tray.

7. Shortcuts in the View menu:

  1. Alt + V : Book commands in the View menu.
  2. Ctrl + 1 : Display as music library.
  3. Ctrl + 2 : Display as selected skin interface.
  4. Ctrl + 3 : Display the interface playing music.
  5. Ctrl + M : Displays the menu bar in the default window mode.
  6. Ctrl + I : Capture an image from a DVD.
  7. Alt + Enter : Display videos in full screen mode.
  8. Alt + 1 : Display video at 50% rate.
  9. Alt + 2 : Display videos at 100% rate.
  10. Alt + 3 : Display video at 200% rate.
