Great news for Skype users who own older Android devices, Microsoft has just announced that the application has been optimized to work smoothly on Android devices 4.0.3 to 5.1.

The new version of Skype has a smaller capacity and uses less memory, thus enabling faster speeds and better audio and video quality on older Android devices. Furthermore, Microsoft promises that a lighter version of Skype will bring higher performance even in areas with "challenging network conditions".
