1. Step 1

On Excel , select the Embedded Char t chart or the Chart Sheet (also a Sheet in Workbook , but it contains only one graph) that you want to copy to Word .

Click on Paste Options option (paste option) located next to the chart, then do one of the steps below:

  1. If you want to paste (paste) the chart with a data link, click Chart (linked to Excel data) .
  1. If you want to paste (chart) charts including access to all Workbooks in Word , click the Excel Chart (entire workbook).
  1. If you want to paste (paste) the chart as a still image (normal image), click Paste as Picture .
  1. If you want to paste (paste) the chart as the original format, click Keep Source Formatting .
  1. If you want to paste (paste) the chart and reformat the chart using Word themes, click Use Destination Theme.

6. Note

If the Paste Options option button is not available when you paste (paste) a chart on Word , you must proceed to open   Compatibility Mode ( compatible mode ) on Word . In Compatibility Mode ( compatible mode ), your chart will be pasted (pasted) like pasting a still image.

7. Tips

- To paste (paste) a chart into other formats, click the arrow under the Paste button, then click Paste Special. An As dialog window appears. On the list listed on the As dialog box, select the format you want to paste.

- To paste (paste) a chart as an editable object with Excel , click on Microsoft Office Excel Chart Object. To insert a file icon so that when you click on the icon the file can open your chart, select Display as icon.

- To paste (paste) the chart as an Object Linking and Embedding . Create an application icon so that when you click on the icon, you can view your chart.
