How to remove pixels in GIMP

If you have digital photos with some unwanted details, you can handle them using the GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) software. GIMP filters provide a variety of effects that can help improve image quality. 2. Select a filter. You can try both Gaussian blur and Despeckle filters to see which filters have the best results for your image. Try applying different effects after each change. Select menu "Filters", then select "Blur" and "Gaussian Blur" or instead select "Enhance" and "Despeckle". Each filter gives you control over the details along with a preview of the final result.

3. Configure your filter. In the Despeckle dashboard , experiment with medium settings like Adaptive, Recursive, radius and slider that adjust the white and black levels until you get the desired results. These settings must be set to the level appropriate to the image you are editing. In the Gaussian Blur setup , experiment with horizontal and vertical size settings, as well as the Blur method to see what is best for your image. Click "OK" to apply the filter on the image.

4. Check the results. Once you have applied the filter, you can compare the results with the rest of the image. You may even want to select two or more sections, apply different filters and filter details to each part to get the best effect on the entire image. If you are not satisfied with the filter results, undo the original image with the Edit menu .

Useful tips

GIMP filters also include options for removing jagged or striped lines, which may be useful for images taken during travel.
