How to Identify Visitors in No, I'm Not a Human
In No, I'm Not a Human , Visitors are the biggest threat. They look exactly like humans, except for a few minor details. Most Visitors are malicious, and if the player lets two or more Visitors into a house, they will start killing the people inside, eventually killing the Main Character.
The origins of Visitors are unclear, with some theorizing that they were once human and were buried underground. Evidence suggests that many Visitors have dirty fingernails, as if they had just crawled out of the ground. Most of them are unaware that they are Visitors, and those who do realize their true nature often become extremely violent, enjoying threatening or torturing humans.
The meaning of the name 'Visitors'
In the opening dialogue with the Neighbor, it is hypothesized that:
- They are called Visitors because they appear from underground, as if 'visiting' the surface.
- Or because of a creepy habit: breaking into people's homes to kill them.
Signs to identify Visitors
Every morning, the TV News will provide identifying features. More will be added in the final version of the game. The currently known features include:
- Unusually perfect white teeth
- Dirty nails
- Bloodshot eyes
- Hairless armpits
- Black streak in halo photograph
- Blurred image (VHS demo only)
- Insects in the Ear (official version only)
- Bleeding gums, skin irritation, rapid pupillary movement (official version only)
- Armpit fungus (official version only)
Shoot Visitors
When the player shoots a Visitor, the screen will distort briefly and show a horrifying white face – a sign that it is indeed a Visitor. However, if too many visitors are shot in a short period of time, this effect may not appear, making the line between human and Visitor even more unclear.
The Mystery of 'Scrambled Words'
In Violent Horror Stories: Anthology , the main menu reads: 'No, I'm not a human, I'm a…' accompanied by distorted characters. Occasionally, some text appears in red, revealing hints about the Visitors' true nature, such as:
Apocalypse, Conquest, Death, Disease, Famine, Killer, Murderer, Nightmare, Plague, War.
Trivia – Interesting information
- The blur mechanic was originally intended to be used as a gameplay feature, but ended up just appearing as 'flavor text'.
- Some Visitors in the game files have distorted sprites, hinting at this mechanic.
- Traits such as white teeth, red eyes, and dirty fingernails also hint that Visitors may actually be corpses risen from the grave.
