Facebook allows users to turn off notification dots

Facebook updates a new feature that allows users to turn off notification dots on apps to avoid being disturbed.

On the Facebook app, when there are pending messages, new friend requests or related information on the News Feed, users will receive notifications with red dots. However, the appearance of these notifications can make many users distracting and uncomfortable.

Thankfully, Facebook will help users to end this frustration by allowing them to turn off notification dots. Even, users can delete some shortcuts on the application.

Facebook only updates this capability on mobile apps. Currently, all iOS users have begun to receive this new update, Android users will have to wait a few more weeks to turn off the notification dots on Facebook.

Users can manage the shortcut bar by going to the Facebook app by clicking the menu icon -> choosing Settings & Privacy -> selecting Settings -> selecting Shortcuts.

Over the past year, Facebook has been constantly struggling with issues related to user data security. Most recently, on November 5, Facebook admitted that about 100 developers are still illegally accessing user data in Facebook Group longer than specified.
