Weak PCs are about to be kicked out of Windows 11 Insider Program by Microsoft

This is probably not good news for those who like to experience the latest features of Windows 10.

Microsoft is sending a notice to Insider Program users whose computers do not meet the Windows 11 minimum hardware requirements. Specifically, the notice is as follows:

"Your PC does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Your device is not eligible for the Windows Insider Program on Windows 11. Please install Windows 10 to join the Windows Insider Program in the Release Preview Channel ".

Perhaps this message means that users with unsupported machines will not be able to receive the next Windows 11 Insider builds.

This move is not surprising. At the launch event, Microsoft stated that computers that do not meet the minimum hardware requirements will not be able to load Windows 11 Insider Preview via the Beta and Release Preview channels.

Meanwhile, these machines are allowed to download Windows 11 Insider Preview via the Dev channel but will not receive any more builds after October 5. October 5 is set by Microsoft as the official release date of Windows 11 for users.

After October 5, users with computers that do not meet the minimum Windows 11 requirements will have the following options:

  1. Back to Windows 10
  2. Continue to use Windows 11 Insider Preview even if no more updates are received
  3. Installing official Windows 11 via ISO file but not receiving security updates

In general, Microsoft still has inconsistent policies on computer configuration compatible with Windows 11. Hopefully, Microsoft will have more adjustments to bring many benefits to users in the future.
