Microsoft warns users not to install Chrome and Firefox

Microsoft really wants you to use Edge browser on the latest Windows Insider, and they don't hesitate to express it so strongly that you know it.

A Windows Insider user, Sean Hoffman, recently posted on Twitter, showing his discontent with the pop-up message of Windows 10 that appears when he wants to install another browser.

Hoffman is using version 17744.1004, currently a slow ring version of the upcoming Windows 10 update. When you run the Firefox installation, you get a message from Microsoft that you should use Edge, because it's faster and safer.

You already have Edge, and what other browser do you install?

Obviously no one is happy with this announcement.Sean said: 'If I want to use your browser, I have already used it.'

This kind of action is no stranger to Microsoft, which previously annoyed users when using Edge as the default browser to open the links in email.Even so, it shouldn't be frustrating for every Microsoft. It is unfair that even Google uses the same way when users search on their browser.

Google wants you to use Chrome, of course

But the fact that the operating system detects the binary file of the installation and suggests an alternative tool, is another story. This is a new option that will appear on Windows 10 October Update 2018 update, whereby Microsoft Store will suggest an alternative application while the user is still using the normal OS.

There is currently an option on April 2018 Update for users to control, allowing the application to be installed outside the Microsoft store and 'On' enabled by default. It is not difficult to imagine that in the future when installing other applications, you will receive the same message from Microsoft.

Although users can disable it, this also raises concerns about how much Windows 10 monitors user activity, as well as why it is enabled by default.Although not yet an official version, these are also signs for a near future.
