Microsoft has "bluntly" removed junk, fake or deceptive applications, misleading users from their Windows Store.
After admitting that Windows Store has many applications that deceive users as we reported earlier, Microsoft has started to "purify" its products by removing more than 1500 garbage applications, and said it will. Refunds for those who "accidentally" bought wrongly.
In addition, Microsoft has just issued a new policy for developers to put applications on the Windows Store including:
- Name: Must be clear, accurate, properly describe the functions of the application.
- Category: Must have a reasonable and functional list, purpose of use to help users find easily.
- Icon: must be specific and not be confused with other application icons.
This new policy will apply to both Windows Store and Windows Phone Store.
