Microsoft is forcing Windows 10 users to install the PC Health Check app

Windows 11 started rolling out almost a month ago, but because it's being distributed so widely, not everyone has been upgraded to the new operating system. In the meantime, Microsoft has provided a PC Health Check application that users can use to find out if their computer is eligible to upgrade to the new operating system. This is very important with strict system requirements.

Not long ago, TipsMake.com reported that Microsoft is rolling out a new version of the PC Health Check application to Windows 10 users as part of the periodic update KB5005463. Although the new version of PC Health Check comes with many positive changes, it seems that Microsoft is making a very inappropriate move, which is forcing users to install the PC Health Check application.

According to a report from Bleeping Computer, the PC Health Check application will be silently installed automatically during the application of update KB5005463. In other words, PC Health Check will be installed automatically when the user updates the operating system. Microsoft itself has also confirmed this in the update release announcement, noting that important application updates will also be installed automatically when the user opens PC Health Check, and there is no way to disable this 'feature'.

Obviously, not everyone is comfortable with an application automatically installing on their machine, even if it is genuine software from Microsoft. Therefore, there has been an outcry from the user community on social networking platforms. The positive side is that users can uninstall PC Health Check through Windows Settings. But the bad thing is that the application will automatically be reinstalled in the next OS updates. In fact, there are several ways to prevent the re-installation of the application, but since it involves making edits to the Registry, the implementation will be very complicated and comes with many risks to the system.

Overall, PC Health Check is a fairly lightweight application (only about 11.5MB), does not consume too many resources when the system. So installing PC Health Check will not cause any problems for your system. But any possible 'coercion' does not apply here.
