When using a computer, over time, no matter how strong your hardware configuration is, you will encounter slowness or lag. The Temp folder window appears, select all the files that appear (by clicking on any file, then pressing Ctrl + A). Then press Shift + Delete to delete all temporary files (If you only press Delete, the deleted temporary files will still be saved in the trash).

Clean up computer trash in the recycle bin

Many of you still wonder why you still clean up junk files, delete redundant files regularly but the computer is still sluggish! That is because we have not completely deleted those junk files. Normally, we still have the habit of deleting redundant files with the Delete command or using the delete shortcut on the keyboard. But this function only works to temporarily delete files or applications from their storage location and move them to the Recycle Bin in case you want to get them back, you just need to go to the Recycle Bin to restore them.

But there are many files that you really do not need to restore, so the best way is to delete them in the recycle bin to create storage space for your computer.

To clean up the Recycle Bin is very simple, just right-click on the trash icon and select Empty Recycle Bin to delete all the files in it.

Using Disk Cleanup tool

Windows 10 offers a Disk Cleanup tool. It's been part of the Windows operating system for years, and it's still effective at cleaning up unnecessary files and improving performance. To run Disk Cleanup, either type the application's name in the Start menu or go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Disk Cleanup.

Before running the scan, click Clean up system files. This allows the application to run a more comprehensive scan by checking for old Windows Update files and log files. In general, you can delete all the files that Disk Cleanup finds by checking the box next to each type of result and clicking OK. However, note that when you choose to clean up Previous Windows installation(s) using the Clean up system files option, you will not be able to roll back to your previous version of Windows.

Remove unused programs

In addition to the above ways to clean up your computer, deleting unused programs or applications is also a way to optimize the speed of your computer. To see all the applications on your computer, go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps and features. Scroll down the list and click Uninstall for the software you no longer need. However, you need to do it carefully, because deleting system programs can lead to problems, so do a Google search before proceeding.
