In emergency situations, you can use your Android phone as a mouse pad for Windows. Using the touch screen of an Android phone as a mouse pad in Windows is extremely easy.

Here's how to turn an Android smartphone into a mouse pad for Windows 10 computers.

Note : To do this, the Windows system and the Android device must be on the same WiFi network or local network. Otherwise, the method below will not work.

Steps to use an Android phone as a mouse

To use Android as a mouse, all you have to do is create a new server and client function between your Android device and Windows system. In this case, Windows acts as a server and the Android device acts as the client. Although it sounds complicated, this is quite easy to do.

1. First, visit the Play Store and install the Remote Mouse application on the Android device that you want to use as a mouse.

2. Now, download the Remote Mouse server application and install it like any other Windows program.

3. After installing the server application in Windows, open the program with admin rights. Just search for Remote Mouse in the Start menu, right-click on it and select the Run as administrator option . Once opened, it will reside on the taskbar.

If you do not see your system, make sure the Remote Mouse server application is running on Windows and that both devices are on the same local area network.

6. Click on the system in the list and you will see a big blank screen appear. Just move your finger on free space and the mouse pointer in Windows will move accordingly.

Because the Remote Mouse works like a virtual touchpad, you can use all the usual gestures like swipe with two fingers to scroll, press twice in succession to double click, pinch to zoom, etc. .

If desired, you can customize the gesture options in the Remote Mouse app on Android. Just press the menu icon (three horizontal lines) that appears in the lower left corner and scroll down to the TouchPad section .

Fix unable to connect

If you don't see your PC listed in the Remote Mouse app, you can also add it manually.

First, make sure that the Remote Mouse application is running with admin rights in Windows. Next, right-click on the Remote Mouse icon on the taskbar and select Preferences.

In the Preferences window , click the Show QR Code button . This action will show you a unique QR code in the web browser.

Now, in the Remote Mouse mobile app, tap the Add (+) button that appears in the upper right corner and select the Scan QR Code option .
