How to transfer Zalo messages to other phones

Zalo is optimized for data and relatively high security, so when you switch phones to use Zalo, you will not get messages on your old phone. However, Zalo still provides you with the ability to backup message data so that you can view the messages on Zalo with your new device.

How to transfer messages on Zalo to another phone will be divided into 2 parts.

1. Part 1, we will work on phones using Zalo full of messages.
2. Part 2, we will operate on new phones using Zalo without messages.

Part 1: Backup message data on old phone

On Zalo there is a backup feature but by default it will not turn on so we have to back up manually. Later, you want to back up automatically you can turn them on.

Step 1: Open the Zalo application on your phone and select the Add section . Next, select the Gear icon to open Settings .

Step 2: Find the section Backup and restore messages . Finally, click Backup to conduct backup immediately.

If you want to later Zalo automatically back up the message data so when we switch to another device always have new message data, then you turn on Auto Backup .

Part 2: Recover message data on new device

With the new device, when you log in Zalo with your account (backup already available), it will always ask "Do you want to recover messages?". If you do not back up, it is impossible to recover messages.

Step 1: You open the Zalo application on the device and proceed to log in with your account. Immediately, Zalo will ask you to restore to the backup time below or not? You select Restore message to proceed to transfer the message to a new device.

Note: If you have logged in without automatic recovery, you can refer to manual message recovery in Step 3.

Step 2: Recovery time varies from 1-2 minutes depending on capacity and network speed. After completing, you select Continue to use.

All message data on your old device has been transferred to Zalo on your new device.

Step 3: If you have logged in without a data recovery window, you can manually recover as follows.

Open Zalo application -> Add -> Settings -> Backup and restore messages -> Restore messages.

Zalo will automatically restore the message for you.
