Method 1 of 2:
Using iCloud Backup
- Press your iPhone or iPad's Home button. This will start the standard setup process, and list your setup options on the "Apps & Data" page.
- Select Restore from iCloud Backup on the Apps & Data page. This option will allow you to select one of your saved iCloud backups, and restore all your data.
- If you're not connected to the internet, you'll be prompted to select a Wi-Fi network.
- Sign in with your Apple ID. Enter your Apple ID email and password, and tap Next on the top-right to proceed.
- Tap Agree on the bottom-right. This button is in the lower-right corner of Apple's terms and conditions.
- You will have to agree to the terms and conditions in order to proceed.
- Tap the backup you want to restore. This will download the selected backup, and restore all your data, including apps, messages, settings and other user preferences.
Method 2 of 2:
Using iTunes Backup
- Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer. Use the standard charging cable to connect your iPhone or iPad to the computer via USB.
- Open iTunes on your computer. The iTunes icon looks like a purple musical note in a white circle. You can find it on the Start menu (Windows) or in the Applications folder (Mac).
- Click the iPhone or iPad icon on the top-left. You can find this button below the Play/Pause buttons in the upper-left corner of the app window. It will open your iPhone or iPad's Summary page.
- Click Restore Backup in the Backups section. You can find this button below the "Manually Back Up and Restore" heading on the right-hand side. This will open a new pop-up window.
- Select the backup you want to restore in the pop-up. Click the drop-down menu, and select the backup you want to restore your data from.
- Click the Restore button. This button is in the lower-right corner of the pop-up window. It will restore all your contacts, calendars, notes, messages, and settings from the selected backup.
