How to play videos directly on YouTube from Android phones and iOS devices

You can live stream from the YouTube mobile app home page. After the live stream on the mobile device ends, an archive of live streams is created on your YouTube channel and you can choose the option to edit the privacy settings (including settings. personal live stream) or delete the archive.

Part 1: Play videos directly on YouTube from Android phones

YouTube live is available on Android 6.0+ .

1. Request for YouTube Live

- Confirm that your channel is verified and you do not restrict live stream within the past 90 days.

Note:

For YouTube live on mobile phones, your channels must have more than 10,000 subscribers .

2. Activate YouTube Live for the first time

1. Download the latest YouTube app version to your Android phone.

  1. Download the latest YouTube app version to your Android phone and install it here.

2. Select the Camera button .

3. Grant the YouTube application to access Camera, Mic, and Storage (storage).

4. If notified, verify your channel.

5. Select GO LIVE .

Note:

If there is no channel, you will be prompted to create a channel before selecting Go Live .

3. Create Live Stream YouTube on Android

1. Select the shutter button.

2. Select GO LIVE .

3. Create a name, then select a privacy setting.

4. Optional: select the settings.

- Add a description.

- Enable or disable live chat.

- Enable or disable age restrictions for your live stream.

- Notice that your live stream contains advertising or free advertising.

- Select the return arrow.

5. Next choose to take a picture as a thumbnail.

6. Optional: live stream in Landscape mode.

- Hold your device in Landscape mode.

- Make sure the rotating screen is locked.

7. Optional: share live stream, press SHARE .

8. Select GO LIVE .

9. To end live stream, select FINISH , then select OK .

After the live stream on the mobile device ends, an archive of live streams is created on your YouTube channel.

10. You can edit privacy settings (including settings to transfer live streams to personal mode) or delete the archives on my video page.

4. Chat directly on mobile phones

Mobile chat messages can be censored in the same way that instant messaging you usually do. You can assign moderators, manage spam messages, block messages, and block users from chatting or deleting chat messages.

Just like on Android devices, on iOS devices you can live stream from the YouTube mobile app home page. After the live stream on the mobile device ends, an archive of live streams is created on your YouTube channel and you can choose the option to edit the privacy settings (including settings. personal live stream) or delete the archive.

2. Then select GO LIVE .

3. Create a name, then select a privacy setting.

4. Optional: select the settings below.

- Add a description.

- Enable or disable live chat.

- Enable or disable age restrictions for your live stream.

- Notice that your live stream contains advertising or free advertising.

- Select the return arrow.

5. Next choose to take a picture as a thumbnail. You can upload (upload) a custom thumbnail (this option is only available on iOS).

6. Optional: live stream in Landscape mode mode (landscape mode).

- Hold your device in Landscape mode.

- And make sure that the rotating screen on your iOS device is locked.

7. Optional: share live stream, press SHARE .

8. Select GO LIVE .

9. To end live stream, select FINISH , then select OK .

After the live stream on the mobile device ends, an archive of live streams is created on your YouTube channel.
