How to check the battery life of the AirPods by case
Just like the original way you paired the AirPods with an iPhone, lifting the cover will show you the battery life of the AirPods headset and the case.
Note : Since the AirPods case can recharge the headphones, it's easy to forget you need to charge the case. Checking battery life is a good reminder to place the case on a regular charging cradle.
1. Bring the cover close to the phone and open the cover.
2. On the home screen or lock screen, an image will appear, showing the battery life for each side of the AirPods headset separately, if they are being used or both for both if they are in the case. .
Note : Opening the lid while an application is open will not display battery life. iPhone needs to be on the main screen or lock screen.
3. Close the lid of the box and the pop-up window will disappear.
How to view the battery life of AirPods from the lock screen

To check battery life with the lock screen widget, swipe down from the top of the iPhone screen to display the notification window, then swipe right to see the Batteries widget . If the phone is unlocked and on the home screen, just swipe right to see all the widgets enabled.
Note : If you don't see the Batteries widget , scroll to the bottom and click Edit, then click the green + button next to Batteries to add the Batteries widget . Widget Batteries will display devices like iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods.
Check AirPods battery life from Apple Watch
Not only can you check the battery life of AirPods from your iPhone, but you can also do it from an Apple Watch.
Note : You can only see the AirPods battery life on your Apple Watch if they're connected to an iPhone or directly to the watch.
1. On Apple Watch, swipe up to go to the control panel.
2. Click the watch's battery life.
3. If the AirPods are in the ears or if the box lid is open, the battery life of each side of the headset will appear on the Apple Watch screen.
4. Scroll down to see the metrics for each AirPods headset and cover listed.
5. Click Digital Crown to return.
