Called Compute Engine , this product is part of the Google Cloud platform and it will provide processing power, storage space and related services for those who need a place to operate the website or My application. Compute Engine will compete with EMC2 / Web Service of Amazon, Azure of Microsoft, Rackspace, GoDaddy as well as other names in the cloud field.

Google adds that the way Server Compute Engine supports all Linux distros, including Red Hat Enterprise, FreeBSD, Debian, Centos with a kernel of choice. Each such virtual server can be provided with up to 16 processor cores and 104GB of RAM, in addition to other cheaper " packages " with 1, 2, 4, and 8 CPUs and less RAM. The maximum storage space of each machine is 10TB. Compute Engine also comes with App Engine, a service that allows developers to build software online without having to worry about managing their servers.

In addition, Google also introduced a feature called " Transparent maintenance " for Compute Engine. It will allow Google to maintain the infrastructure ( both hardware and software or network systems ) without having to deactivate the user's virtual machines. That helps the system work stably and reduce to the lowest " dead " time. In case something goes wrong, the virtual machine will reboot and run up in just a few minutes.
