How to start Firefox in Safe Mode

1. Method 1

Note:

This only applies to Firefox on Windows operating systems.

First you close all Firefox browser windows.

Next, open the Run dialog window, then enter the command line: firefox.exe -safe-mode and press Enter and wait for a few minutes.

At this point on the screen you will see a dialog box showing you whether you want to start Firefox in Safe Mode?

Click Start in Safe Mode on the dialog box to start Firefox in Safe Mode.

2. Way 2

Applies to Firefox on all Windows, Mac OS X, Linux .

First open Firefox on your computer then click on the Menu button (3 line dash icon).

On the Firefox Menu, select Help or the dot question mark icon.

On Menu Help, select Restart with Add-ons Disabled .

Now the screen will display a dialog box asking if you want to start Firefox in Safe Mode?

Click Start in Safe Mode on the dialog box to start Firefox in Safe Mode.

When Firefox is in Safe Mode you can disable add-ons or find and fix browser-related errors and problems.

Once done, you can close Firefox and restart. Firefox will automatically reboot in normal mode.
