Completely uninstall software in Windows with Revo Uninstaller

Some files may still be left in the installation folder, in the Documents folder or somewhere in the system file. In the worst case scenario, some of their registry keys remain untouched and will fill the Registry. As more and more junk files and registry keys are in your computer, your computer becomes slower and the ability to work is reduced.

Normally, to uninstall a software on Windows, we will use the Uninstall utility in Control Panel. But have you ever wondered whether it really removed all traces of it? The answer is uncertain. Most applications removed will not be completely removed.

Some files may still be left in the installation folder, in the Documents folder or somewhere in the system file. In the worst case scenario, some of their registry keys remain untouched and will fill the Registry. As more and more junk files and registry keys are in your computer, your computer becomes slower and the ability to work is reduced.

So what's the solution? Find a powerful disassembly tool to completely remove the leftover excess.

Revo Uninstaller is one such software. It has the ability to 'uproot' a software completely from your system. This software has the ability to uninstall an application and remove all of its presence signs (files, folders or key registry).

After installing and running, Revo Uninstaller will scan your system to find all installed applications and list them in the program window. After that, the user can click on any application to remove it.

Next, you just need to confirm the decision to uninstall the application, a popup window will appear and give you 4 methods to remove. Each method runs the default uninstaller tool. The difference lies in the effectiveness of the system scan performed by Revo Uninstaller.

  1. Built-in: There is no difference, similar to the debugging process performed from Control Panel.
  2. Safe: After completing the uninstallation process, this method will scan the registry and file system to find the remaining information so you can safely remove it. This is not only a quick method but also very comprehensive.
  3. Moderate: This method extends the capabilities of the Safe method with more comprehensive registry and file system scans.
  4. Advanced: This is the slowest but most powerful method with a deeper scan to detect the rest of the application being removed.

Note: be careful when you select the Advanced method, especially when you install different versions of an application (for example, Firefox 3 and Firefox 4 Beta). The remaining items of both versions are listed and you may find it a bit difficult to distinguish the items of the version to be removed.

Remove and delete completely

Before Revo Uninstaller handles uninstalling the application, it will create a system restore point so that you can restore the original installation if the computer has a problem after uninstalling.

Once you have created the restore point and analyzed your application, the software will run the software's default uninstaller.

After completing the uninstallation process, the software will proceed to detect the leftover items and the remaining registry key. The highlighted item implies that they are "abandoned" by the application's default uninstall tool that you just removed. When you click the Select All button, all items will be selected but the highlighted items will be deleted. To complete the uninstallation, click the Delete button.

For some installations that require rebooting the system, select Reboot later and continue working with Revo Uninstaller software. Revo will detect the files you are using and leave them in an unmoved state until the next boot. After restarting the computer, those files are gone.
