Market analysis firm Netmarketshare released a statistical report on the global market for desktop operating systems in October 2019, and these are mostly positive numbers for Microsoft.

After many stimulus campaigns, Windows 10 now has a market share of nearly 55%. Also in the web browser segment, both Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer achieved positive growth in the past October.

Going deeper into the desktop operating system segment, in the past month, Windows 10 has gained about 2% more market share and currently accounts for 54.32% of the global market share. Meanwhile, Windows 7 - the operating system will officially stop receiving periodic security updates on January 14, 2020 - witnessed a significant decline in market share, down to only 26.90%. Coming in third place is macOS 10.14 with a 5.16% market share.

Although Windows 10 still has positive growth momentum, but in the future, Microsoft still plans to 'pull' 25% more users of its old platforms and even rivals to upgrade to Windows 10. , especially when the Windows 7 death timeline is near.

Regarding the browser segment, the situation is still very difficult for Microsoft Edge despite the fact that the platform retains a slight growth momentum (6.09% market share).
