Canonical has been trying for years to turn Ubuntu into a popular operating system for a variety of devices of different sizes, be it TVs, computers or even smartphones.

Recently, the company made a big step forward when unifying the Ubuntu logo for both smartphones and desktops on a flat interface.

Icon design with flat interface is a trend of the era, even Apple has "flattened" iOS 7 and iPhone 5s. Ubuntu is no exception when following this trend. The icons on this operating system are more suitable for the user interface, flat and stylized differences compared to the old icons. The system of icons is less colorful and simple, along with a more objective presentation of the menu.

However, at present, Ubuntu still cannot have this new flat interface icon. This update will be done with the upcoming release of Ubuntu 14.04 for mobile phones.
