Turn on / off the computer disconnect feature from the network in Windows 10

Starting with Windows 10 build 17763.404, Microsoft added the Enable Windows to soft-disconnect a computer from a network setting. This guide will show you how to disable / disconnect the computer from the network in Windows 10.

Starting with Windows 10 build 17763.404, Microsoft added a new Group Policy setting called Enable Windows to soft-disconnect a computer from a network ( Activate Windows to disconnect a computer from the network ). This determines how Windows will disconnect the computer from the network when it determines that the computer should not be connected to the network anymore.

If this policy setting is enabled ( Enabled or Not Configured) , Windows will disconnect the computer (soft disconnect) from the network when determining that the computer should no longer be connected to the network.

If this policy setting is disabled ( Disable ), Windows will immediately disconnect the computer from the network when it determines that the computer should no longer be connected to the network.

This guide will show you how to disable / disconnect the computer from the network in Windows 10.
