Macs that are using Boot Camp to run Windows 10 may have trouble updating to Windows 10 version May 2019 Update.

According to SlashGear, Microsoft has confirmed this issue in a new support document of the company. Accordingly, Macs that appeared before 2012 and newer Macs that used the older version of the Boot Camp or Windows Support Software drivers were affected.

Microsoft will soon release a bug fix in the May 10 update in Windows 10. Photo: Reuters.

Specifically, that is the problem with Mac HAL Driver (MacHALDriver.sys) from September 24, 2011. When updating to Windows 10 May 2019 version Update, a Mac will appear on the Mac: 'Mac HAL Driver - machaldriver.sys: Your PC has a driver or service that isn't ready for this version of Windows 10'.

To temporarily fix this problem, users should update Windows Support Software by checking for updates in the Mac App Store. However, this solution is only applicable to Macs after 2012, not solving the Mac problem that appeared before 2012. Even those computers cannot upgrade to the latest macOS version. .

Microsoft said that those devices will not be abandoned and they are developing a fix to fix this problem. As expected, the fix will be completed later this month.
