After the leak of vulnerabilities related to Meltdown and Specter attacks, Microsoft asked Windows computers using third-party antivirus software to add Registry Key Antivirus (for compatibility with versions). Specter and Meltdown bug fixes, otherwise no new security updates will be received. However, after Microsoft improved its Meltdown and Specter patches and antivirus software vendors have updated their Windows features, the technology firm has decided to remove this registry key. Windows versions.
That means that from now on users can install and use 3rd party antivirus software on their computers without fear of blue screen errors when updating to the latest Windows version.
These changes only apply to such versions: Windows 7/8 / 8.1, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012.
Microsoft said that Windows Update and WSUS will provide two updates KB4093114 and KB4093118 for Windows client servers and operating systems, regardless of whether the device has the same registry settings as the link below.
