Microsoft improved some features in Office 2007 SP3

Software giant Microsoft has just launched Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Office 2007 suite with the latest bug fixes and updates.

Software giant Microsoft has just launched Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Office 2007 suite with the latest bug fixes and updates.

According to Microsoft, Office 2007 SP3 contains the latest updates including two main categories:

- Previous fixes have not been released for this service pack. In addition, improvements in stability, performance and security.

- All public updates, security updates, cumulative updates and hotfixes were released throughout September 2011.

Note that Service Pack 3 contains all the patches in Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2, so you do not need to install SP1 or SP2 before installing SP3.

List of improvements in Office 2007 SP3 version

- Documents that require removing security preferences will not be returned when the search query is performed, even if the user creates a warning that can be seen and queried for these documents.

- Four reference styles are now available in Word Citations & Bibliography features including Harvard Anglia, IEEE, APA Sixth Edition, and MLA Seventh Edition

- Non-Unicode characters in some error messages will now be displayed correctly

- Chinese Lunar New Year has been added to the Outlook calendar for Singapore

- Fix a crash error in Excel when you open a previously saved Excel spreadsheet with a newer version of Excel. This error occurs if the file uses a new feature that is not present in the 2007 Office system

- Fix problems with Pre and Post Reform rules in the French Thesaurus dictionary

- Fixed an issue when the encryption settings could not be configured when they were used in Office 2003 or an earlier version, or with the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack.

- Fixed a bug with hanging Excel files when opening Excel files in Windows Explorer preview mode

- Fix setting errors of Excel Slicers and Ribbon lost when an XLSX file is saved in ODS format, then saved with XLSX format
