Microsoft announced the minimum system requirements and CPU list supporting Windows 11 LTSC 2024
Microsoft also announced the launch of Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 version earlier this week, along with a list of minimum system requirements as well as specific supported processor lines.
A few days ago, Microsoft made an announcement stating that the company is starting WHCP hardware certification for the next Windows feature update: Version 24H2. This will essentially ensure that the Windows 11 24H2 system controls compatible CPU eligibility, and is properly supported by hardware partners such as AMD or Intel. While the system requirements list is not expected to change, processors that are too old will essentially not be able to pass the Windows 11 24H2 qualifying block because they do not have PopCnt and SSE4.2 support.
Notably, the same policy will also apply to Windows Server 2025, which has also just received an official ISO Evaluation.
In addition, Microsoft also announced the launch of Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 version earlier this week, along with a list of minimum system requirements as well as specific supported processor lines. The list is classified into two categories: Preferred and Optional. Below is a list of Windows 11 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2024 minimum system requirements, both preferred and optional:
