BitTorrent is a 'current king' in file sharing, but what is it, and more importantly, how can you use it to download music, video, software and other files?
So what is BitTorrent? BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing technology, meaning that when you download a file on BitTorrent you won't get it from the central server, but take it from someone like you, who has the file to share it with. downloader Transfers the burden of managing large files to make it easier for people to download, even though they are ordinary users or organizations, to distribute software and communications without having to pay multiple bills with large bandwidths. .
BitTorrent can be a good technology, but downloading a file with BitTorren is not as easy as downloading a file from a regular server. The first is that most browsers cannot download files on BitTorrent - they can only assign tasks to another program called BitTorrent client . When you see someone providing a file on BitTorrent, what is provided is a file with a .torrent extension. The .torrent file does not contain the data you want, it only tells the BitTorrent client to know how to find the person whose file you need.
There are many free BitTorrent clients on the Internet, most of them are quite easy to use when used.
UTorrent
uTorrent is my favorite BitTorrent client , and is one of Windows' most available products. It is completely free to download and also very small (you can download it quickly). It has a nice, neat interface, but there are not many advanced features for users.
After installing uTorrent and some settings (the settings will help you), whenever you need to download a .torrent file, it will automatically be opened by uTorrent. UTorrent will give you some options, most of which are left untouched. However, you can choose where the downloaded files are stored in the hard drive. If the torrent has more than one file, you can choose which file you want to download - all of them will be selected by default.
When you click OK , uTorrent will begin downloading your files. Now the thing to do is wait, but then you have a lot to learn if you don't know. The first thing to note is that the torrent is listed in the main uTorrent window along with lots of numbers. Some columns have fairly clear content - ' Size ' is the total amount of data to download, " Done " is how much you have downloaded by the present time, " Down Speed " is the current download speed. , " ETA " is an estimate of how long the download process takes.
Among them, two important parts are " Seeds " and " Peers ". These numbers are shown separately. Seeder is the one who already has all torrents and is currently uploading shared data for those who do not. The first number is the number of the file sender you are downloading, the second number in parentheses is the total number of senders for that torrent. Peers are sometimes called beneficiaries, who don't have any data at all and are currently downloading files from others. The first number is the number of people you currently connect to (including downloading torrent pieces and uploading them), the number in parentheses is the total number of people who are downloading that torrent.
These numbers are important because they determine (although not directly) how fast your download is taking place. Most BitTorrent trackers — pages listing available torrents and configuring a .torrent file — will tell you how many senders and how many people use a torrent before you start downloading. If both numbers are high, your download will be faster (relative to bandwidth). If there are more file downloads than file senders, your download will be slower. And if no one sends the file, your download will never end because all data may not be available unless there is a new sender uploading more.
Once the download is complete, you will become a provider to yourself and continue to upload parts of the torrent to those who do not yet have it. When you get rid of uTorrent and remove torrents, you should stay connected for a while so that other connections can benefit from the bandwidth you have enjoyed from them.
There are many facilities for downloading files via BitTorrent using uTorrent, but there are plenty of other features and options that you can continue to exploit. If there are problems downloading, check the firewall accordingly to not lock them.
