Korean mobile Internet speed is 10 times faster than Vietnam

New 4G service from SK Telecom has been officially applied since this week. According to SK Telecom, this 4G service bandwidth rate reaches 225 Mbps, three times faster than the current bandwidth of Korea and 10 times faster than the mobile Internet speed in Vietnam (21Mbps).

Right now SK Telecom customers can experience 4G service with speeds up to 225 Mbps. Last June, Korea's largest operator SK Telecom introduced the technology they dubbed " the most advanced LTE network in the world " - LTE-Advanced.

According to SK Telecom, LTE-Advanced has download speeds up to 3.8 Gbps

While current mobile connection speeds are only 75 Mbps, LTE-Advanced technology will be three times faster ( 225 Mbps ) and allow users to download 800MB movies in less than 29 seconds.

While LTE can normally provide data using adjacent data blocks of frequencies up to 20 MHz, LTE-Advanced allows operators to combine 10 MHz and 20 MHz channels to achieve Transmission speed is significantly higher.

This new technology has been brought by SK Telecom at the Asian Mobile Expo last week in Shanghai. Combined with Nokia, the Korean carrier announced LTE-Advanced with download speeds of up to 3.8 Gbps. The previous record was established by SK Telecom at Mobile World Congress in February last year at 450 Mbps.

The first device that supports LTE-Advanced speed will be Samsung Galaxy S5. LG and Pantech are also planning to bring LTE-Advanced technology to their new devices, which are expected to launch in early July.

Reportedly, LTE-Advanced is an upgraded version of LTE but the 2 standards are still fully compatible with each other. New LTE-Advanced phones still work well with conventional LTE networks and vice versa.
