This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off the display of signs on the taskbar icon of Your Phone app in Windows 10, when you have new unread Android phone messages.
After linking your Android phone to your Windows 10 PC, you can use the Your Phone app on your PC to view and send text messages from your Android phone on your PC.
About Your Phone app on Windows 10
You will only be able to delete messages on your Android phone. Deleted items will appear on your phone and in the Your Phone app on your PC. You cannot delete messages directly on the PC.
To minimize network bandwidth and maximize performance, Your Phone app only displays text messages that you have received or sent within the past 30 days.
Your Phone app supports messages sent via SMS (Short Message Service). It also supports MMS group messaging (Multimedia Messaging Service), but does not yet support attached media files (like photos or videos).
Your Phone app does not support messages sent through RCS (Rich Communication Services).
If the Your Phone app detects that you're using Cortana to view text messages on your PC, it will give you the option to view them in the Your Phone app. Please open the Your Phone application on your computer to perform the setup process. In Windows 10, the Cortana setting is called Get phone notifications on this PC .
If you open the Your Phone app or pin it to the taskbar, you'll see a sign displayed on the Your Phone icon in the taskbar, whenever you receive new unread messages on your Android phone.

Note: If you turn off the Show badges on taskbar buttons setting , the indication will not show up on Your Phone app, even if you turn on Badge on taskbar in the app settings according to the instructions below.
