How to arrange names in alphabetical order in Word

When working with Name tables on Word, users need to re-organize the names in accordance with the alphabet alphabet.

When processing Word tables, especially with a data sheet with a Name, users need to sort the content alphabetically. This will make it easier for viewers to find the name and content that comes with it, instead of the data stack.

1. Arrange names on Word in alphabetical order

Step 1:

At the Word table, highlight the Name or any column that we want to sort alphabetically.

Click the Layout tab and then select the Sort tool to open the Sort dialog box.

Step 3:

New interface appears. Here we will proceed to set up the following items.

Part Sort by entering the column name to sort, My list has you select Header row if step 1 you select the column header so that Word does not sort the first cell. If you do not select the column header, select No header row.

Next, select the type of arrangement if in the ascending style A> Z ABC alphabet, select all on Ascending, otherwise, choose Desending.

Finally, click OK to save and proceed to sort data.

The result of the data table has been rearranged column Full Name in alphabetical order, the remaining data columns will also automatically be sorted.

2. Arrange the same names according to ABC

In the case of the same name, we need to follow the accompanying First and Middle Name.

Step 1:

You need to highlight both the column Name and column name in the data table and then check the Layout tab and select the Sort tool .

Step 2:

In this interface we will proceed to set up items including:

  1. Sort by will enter the Name column in the data table.
  2. Then by entering the last column in the data table.
  3. Sorting style between Ascending or Descending.
  4. The My list has if you select the column header, select Header row, otherwise select No header row.

Finally click OK to sort the data.

As a result we will see the same names that will be based on the First and Middle names to sort. There are 2 students named Pham Nghia Trung and Pham Tuan Trung. When arranging both Surname and Name in order A> Z, Pham Nghia Trung will first rank.

3. Arrange names on ordered Word columns

In case the table has the entire column, if you follow the above way, the number in the cells will not be rearranged in order 1, 2, 3, . but still keep the same number with the name.

Step 1:

At the Word tab, black out the TT Number column and then select the Layout tab and select the Sort tool .

Step 2:

The Sort dialog box appears, click the Options button below.

In the Sort Options view, select Sort column only to set up the sorting of the columns you select in the Word table. Click OK.

Step 3:

Next, the user blackens all the columns to sort by but removes the TT Number column and clicks on the Layout tab and select the Sort tool.

New interface appears Sort by as Name, Then by is Last name, Select sort and click OK . Thus only the selected columns will be in the correct order and the TT number column will remain the same.

As a result, we will get the alphabetical order table including the same names.
